CRA in UK Civil Nuclear Delegation to India

Jasbir Sidhu, Managing Director of Corporate Risk Associates Limited, and member of the IoD West Thames Branch, was involved in a UK Civil Nuclear Delegation to India (New Delhi and Mumbai, 19-22 January 2009) organised by UK Trade and Investment.

Top British nuclear energy experts, led by Lord Peter Mandelson, the UK's minister for business, showcased the UK’s unique nuclear power experience which would benefit the Indian Nuclear Industry.  Jasbir said that the Indian market will provide significant opportunities for all in the future involved in the nuclear industry in the UK.

During the mission, Jasbir found the role of UK Trade and Investment very interesting and refreshing.

We all think that these type of government departments are set-up for civil servants to have a jolly at UK tax payers expense, says Jasbir.  However, Jasbir found that far from having a jolly, the delegation organisers worked extremely hard at promoting UK plc and showcasing UK businesses overseas.  For those who are not aware, UK trade and Investment provide business opportunities, expert trade advice and support to UK-based companies wishing to grow their business overseas.  Further information can be found at www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk.
