My experience at CRA by Sam Moore, Howard of Effingham School

Before coming to CRA for my first day of work experience, I had only a small understanding about what they did and what they specialised in. However, since I have been here I have watched an interesting presentation about nuclear decommissioning in the UK, interviewed several of the employees and improved my understanding of what their roles in the CRA were.

While at CRA, I thought that the organisation of my office was good and I was pleased with the tasks I was set to do. These tasks were constructing my own interviews, putting together my own article for the website and smaller tasks like shredding, scanning and collecting the post. I had to use my initiative to: organise interviews with employees, using Microsoft Outlook within CRA to arrange meetings.

Throughout my five days here, I have gathered a greater understanding of the skills required for different jobs by interviewing colleagues.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank CRA for giving me an interesting work experience and also for linking it in with my future ambition, Journalism.
