Electrical Industry Charity Golf Day

25/06/2014 13:54

Tony Mills, Chairman of the organising committee, thanked CRA for supporting the Electrical Industry Charity (formerly the EEIBA) golf day at Lilley Brook Golf Course, Cheltenham.   The Charity raised about £30,000 from the event this year.  This charity event has been held at Lilley Brook every year for about the last 40 years and continues to be well supported by the industry.

Later in the evening Tony was presenting the prizes…  with the main prizes going to himself.  Tony won 1st prize for best individual score , and his team (with local knowledge of the current Club Captain for Lilley Brook) and able support from Peter Neumann (EDF Energy) also won  1st place in the team competition.

The CRA team of Gerry Robertson (EDF Energy), Jim Irving (retired CEGB) and myself were in about 6th place for the team event (out of 28 teams).  Charles Shepherd also represented CRA and from his team George Dickie (EDF Energy) secured second place in the individual competition.  The event was enjoyed by all [with disappointment that the England football team were rubbish – again].
