David Gorringe joins the CRA team in a senior business development role

Dave joins CRA with a key remit to develop a new office in the North East of England to meet the demands of customers and the growth of CRA.  A Chartered Engineer with a first degree in Engineering Management and a post graduate MSc in Safety Critical Systems Engineering, Dave joins CRA from AMEC where he was the regional business manager responsible for the operational and financial management of the North East office, delivering safety and reliability engineering projects for a variety of customers.  Prior to this post, Dave was a senior safety consultant providing safety advice to the Astute submarine programme.  This included the development of safety cases, monitoring project safety activities, undertaking detailed reviews of the resultant safety documentation and constant liaison with Implementation Contractors, Operational Authority and the Ministry of Defence Operational Sponsors.

Dave has a vast and diverse experience in multi engineering environments which spans over 20 years, including a long and successful career in the Royal Air Force, as a senior engineering officer, where he was responsible for System Safety Engineering for Air Traffic Management and associated navigational equipment.  During this tenure he was responsible for providing independent safety auditing and advice for the UK Defence Procurement Agency, Equipment and Support Delivery Teams on multiple equipment projects.

Dave lives on the Northumberland coast with his family, in his spare time he enjoys cricket, kayaking, walking and rugby, although his playing days are well behind him.  As a STEM Ambassador he is a keen supporter of delivering and encouraging engineering in schools at all levels.
