29/06/2010 16:19

Gary Cairns of CRA is currently helping the National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control of Romania (CNCAN), with the review of its knowledge management (KM) strategy and  programme. The project, sponsored by the Norwegian Government and coordinated through the auspices of the IAEA began in January 2010 and is expected to complete in  April  2011. The main objective of the work is to support CNCAN in the development of its knowledge management and capacity building frameworks to secure long-term availability of regulatory competency.

The project is organised into a number of phases. The first phase involves a maturity assessment of the current KM processes and systems. Future phases will help develop KM policy, strategy, implementation plans and training for CNCAN staff. A pilot project will also be established to help demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the agreed improvements.

Gary Cairns of CRA said "the project involves multinational collaboration between various parties which makes the work both interesting and challenging.  As with all KM initiatives the ultimate aim is to ensure major organisational benefit to the client"

Managing Director Jasbir Sidhu of CRA said "CRA is keen to support knowledge management and capacity building programmes in Europe and elsewhere in the world.  This project will help establish CRA as a facilitator of nuclear power improvement programmes and will add to our established track record as a premier supplier of nuclear safety services”
