CRA Congratulates it’s Latest Chartered Engineer – Nadim Choudhary

Nadim has just achieved his Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. In 2008 the IMechE accredited CRA’s professional development programme and Nadim is the first Developing Engineer to have achieved Chartered status through the programme.

Feeling both relieved and very happy at the conclusion of the four-year Chartership, Nadim said he found it a useful process. He described how he was required to “review and assess my professional development, identify gaps in my learning and ensure I addressed those gaps in my skills and experience.”

“One of the really good features of the programme was the mentoring” said Nadim, “as I had both an external mentor and an internal CRA mentor.” This allowed him to monitor his progress and to be supported – and challenged – in his professional development.

As a part of the programme, Nadim took up several professional challenges including becoming a STEM Ambassador (promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and becoming a Special Police Constable with the Metropolitan Police.

At CRA Nadim has recently been involved in project managing projects including the Shared System Review and Single Failure Criterion Review for Hartlepool and Heysham 1, having previously attended a Project Management workshop which CRA conducted for it’s Developing Engineers.

Encouraged by CRA and having achieved the milestone of becoming Chartered, Nadim says he aims to continue his learning and self-appraisal, and seeking further professional development opportunities.
